Jan Shiksha - Jammu Vocational Training Project
|
Background:
Due to terrorist attacks a large number of residents of Kashmir
valley were forced to move out of their homes and seek shelter in the
refugee camps in Jammu. They live in appalling conditions and have no means
of livelihood.
An average of 400 unemployed youngsters in age group of 20 to 30 years from
each of the six refugee camps. These youngsters have dropped out of schools
and are adrift, without any sense of direction. The youth living in these
camps can seek gainful employment if they are given vocational training which
will ultimately lead to their rehabilitation along with that of their families.
